Meet Natasha Janssens, Founder of Women with Cents

Natasha Janssens arrived in Australia as an 18-year-old refugee, with no money and no knowledge of Australia’s financial system. In an unfamiliar country and without a support network, she had to learn from experience – and fast!

Now based in Canberra, not only did Natasha go on to become a qualified accountant, mortgage broker and financial planner, she is also the founder and director of Sova Financial!

With a family of her own, Natasha knows what it’s like to juggle life as a new mum with the transition to a single income household – in short, not easy! Having experienced this balancing act first hand and witnessing other women facing the same challenges, Natasha realised her calling: to shift the way women think about money forever.

AS FEATURED IN

REAL WOMEN, REAL SAVINGS

We often get asked what kind of results you can expect to see by applying some of the tips and advice we recommend to our Women with Cents. Here are some examples of recent results.

Single mum Jenny shaved two years off her mortgage and saved $67,000

Jenny, a 37 yo single mum had a $455K mortgage and only $85K in super. Even though she earns $85K a year we worked out she will have a shortfall when she retires in about 30 years. Plus, Jenny was on track to pay a whopping $373,057 in interest on her mortgage! Jenny learnt about the best way to refinance her mortgage and save over $67,000. We also taught Jenny a way to shave another 2 years off her mortgage repayments just by buying cheaper groceries!

Alexandra got an additional $95,000 for her families’ retirement and freed up $31,000 extra cash for them to use each year!

Alex and Will are 40 with 3 kids and earn $90,000 between them (before tax) each year and had $280,000 in super combined. We showed them how to consolidate their super and in the process saved them nearly $4,000 a year in super fees, which is $95,000 extra for their retirement. We also showed them a better strategy to manage their cash which freed up $31,396 a year in cash flow for them NOW and saved them over $154,000 in interest.
